Could be my eyes, too, but I see from top row, light gray # 3 & on. Almost see #2, but not the first gray. Is that bad?Have thought this monitor was pretty good.

Realistically, the #1 should be pure white and therefore you should not see anything as it would blend in with the white background page. Your monitor is good as you see can see detail in # 2 etc. Remember that the scale is from pure white to pure black.
